Bad news for gamers

PTA temporary bans web-based game PUBG.

 

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday forced a transitory restriction on a web-based the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), after three young men ended it all in Lahore in June because of it.

An announcement gave by the PTA said that it had gotten various grievances against PUBG where it had expressed that the game "is addictive, wastage of time and represents a genuinely negative effect on the physical and mental strength of the Children

The administrative body additionally said that the choice had  taken on objections stopped by residents and media reports about instances of "self-destruction credited to PUBG game

Honorable Lahore High court has also directed PTA to look into the issue and decide the matter after hearing the complainants. In this regard, a hearing had conducted on July 9, 2020," it added.

"The Authority also decided to solicit views of the public regarding the said online game. In this regard public is encouraged to provide feedback through consultation-pubg@pta.gov.pk by July 10, 2020," the statement read further.

In the month of June, three boys had committed suicide after they had barred from playing the violent game by their parents.

Punjab Police had also decided to write to the PTA and Federal Investigation Agency for a ban on the online game due to its negative impact on youth.

پی ٹی اے نے ویب پر مبنی گیم PUBG پر عارضی پابندی عائد کردی۔

 

پاکستان ٹیلی مواصلات اتھارٹی (پی ٹی اے) نے بدھ کے روز ایک ویب پر مبنی کھیل ، پلیئر انفارمز بیٹل گراؤنڈز (PUBG) پر عارضی پابندی لگانے پر مجبور کیا ، جس کے سبب جون میں تین نوجوانوں نے لاہور میں یہ سب ختم کردیا تھا۔

پی ٹی اے کی جانب سے دیئے گئے ایک اعلامیے میں کہا گیا ہے کہ اس نے PUBG کے خلاف مختلف شکایات پیدا کیں ہیں جہاں اس نے یہ اظہار کیا تھا کہ یہ کھیل "نشے کا ہے ، وقت کا ضیاع ہے اور بچوں کی جسمانی اور ذہنی طاقت پر حقیقی منفی اثر کی نمائندگی کرتا ہے۔

انتظامی ادارہ نے مزید کہا کہ اس انتخاب نے رہائشیوں اور میڈیا رپورٹس کے ذریعہ رکھے گئے اعتراضات پر زور اٹھایا ہے جو "PUBG گیم میں خود کو تباہ کرنے کا سہرا دیتے ہیں۔

معزز لاہور ہائیکورٹ نے پی ٹی اے کو بھی ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ اس معاملے کو دیکھیں اور شکایت کرنے والوں کی سماعت کے بعد اس معاملے کا فیصلہ کریں۔ اس سلسلے میں ، 9 جولائی 2020 کو ایک سماعت ہوئی۔

بیان میں مزید پڑھا گیا ، "اتھارٹی نے مذکورہ آن لائن کھیل کے بارے میں عوام کے خیالات رکھنے کا بھی فیصلہ کیا۔ اس سلسلے میں عوام کو 10 جولائی 2020 تک مشورے- pubg@pta.gov.pk کے ذریعے رائے دینے کی ترغیب دی گئی ہے۔"

جون کے مہینے میں ،  والدین کے کھیلنے سے روکنے کے بعد تین لڑکوں نے خودکشی کرلی تھی۔
